Hello Squirrels!
Welcome to our class page. Here you will find information about what we are doing on certain days and what we are learning about this term.
In Science we are learning about the human body. Pupils will learn about how the human body changes from birth to old age. Pupils will study the changes that happen to the human body from conception through to old age. They will cover the period of growth known as adolescence and will learn about the changes to the human body. Pupils will compare and contrast the different gestational periods of animals, including humans and will understand that human infants need care and attention for many years before they are independent. Pupils will learn about changes to the human body in old age and the importance of a healthy lifestyle at all ages.
In English, our class text is 'Skellig'. We will be looking closely at the descriptive vocabulary used in the book. The children will write a narrative story including various examples of dialogue which convey character.
In Maths, the children will be looking consolidating their understanding of place value and comparing numbers. They will then move on to learning about decimal numbers. They will use manipulatives to make numbers to three decimal places.
In Geography, the children will become cartographers, which are people who make maps. They will draw lines and divide the world into sections in order to locate places accurately.
Our P.H.S.E.links closely to science. The children will be learning how to stay healthy. This includes a healthy body and a healthy mind.
In R.E. we will learn how to discuss whether it is important to be creative when sharing religious messages. In Latin, our theme is ‘Clean and Healthy’ and we will learn language linked around this theme and learn about the Roman baths! Our P.E. lessons will be focusing on football skills and gymnastics.
In Art, the pupils will learn about ‘Styles in Art’. They will be considering how artists can use different techniques to alter their style. They will go on to create their own abstract artwork.
If you have any questions, please contact Miss Goddard via ClassDojo.
Please remember all messages about attendance and changes to pick up/drop off should be sent to the School Office.
Key information
PE Days:
- Tuesday and Thursday
Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days. Make sure they have warm clothes and suitable shoes in case their lesson is outside. Children should also remember to remove any jewellery during these lessons.

Please continue to practice times tables with your child – this can be done in a variety of ways including the ‘TT Rockstars’ online site.
(Please do contact us if you have any queries or questions about the homework).
Over the year, children may be asked to complete additional homework, which will be communicated with the children and via Class Dojo at that time.
As always, if you have any questions then please get in touch via Class Dojo. Please ensure any urgent messages or absences are still sent to the office in the case the adults in the classroom cannot view Class Dojo right away.
